For HDV shooters, upgrading from your camera''s included viewfinder is often a must. Ikan offers an affordable solution with its V8000HD, an 8in. LCD monitor that mounts to standard camera shoes. The 800x480 monitor accepts HD resolutions via component BNCs (there''s also passthrough of component video). S-Video and composite round out the inputs. The V8000HD mounts standard Sony L Series batteries and runs for about 2.5 hours in the field, according to Ikan. There''s also an AC input to simultaneously power the screen and charge the battery.
