M-Series

While Matrox doesn't sell graphics cards at the clip that Nvidia and ATI do, it still has a place in the visual ecosystem. Specifically, the company has found a niche supplying cards that power multiple monitors, such as the DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go products. Matrox recently introduced five new graphics cards that do even more. The M-series cards, which Matrox says are powered by the industry's first QuadHead GPU, enable native support for up to four displays on one card at a maximum resolution of 1920×1200 pixels each — or about 9.2 megapixels total. The M9140 LP PCIe x16 model supports this feature out of the box; the others require a $99 after-market cable. Two models (M9120 PCIe x16 and M9125 PCIe x16) are limited to supporting two monitors.
