ArtVPS Shaderlight
Zoom and scroll capability allows users to render an image that is larger than the available screen size. Price: $895
ArtVPS, longtime provider of rendering apps, recently announced Shaderlight, the first full-release version of its interactive rendering plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max.
The product of two years of R&D, Shaderlight addresses workflow bottlenecks faced by 3D artists via a new approach to rendering.
Unlike other rendering apps, Shaderlight enables users to interactively change materials, environments, lighting, and textures and see the results in realtime without degrading image quality or restarting the render.
This physically based, progressive raytracer works by maintaining the relationship between the color of the rendered pixel and the elements of the 3D scene that contribute to that pixel. That means when any changes are made, the information embedded in the pixels allows updating of the image without re-rendering.
