Go Behind-the-Scenes of 'La La Land''s Incredible Steadicam Work1/27/2017 10:30 AM Eastern
La La Land Steadicam operator Ari Robbins has posted some fabulous behind-the-scenes videos on his Instagram that show off the coordination and skills it took to film Damien Chazelle's Oscar-nominated musical.
The first video is a peek at the film's opening number, which consisted of three long takes stitched together.
Robbins test out his own coordination below as he steps up and down crates all while keeping his eye on the viewfinder to grab the perfect shot.
Check out a classic crane shot in the making below.
And, finally, Robbins gets silent cues from director Chazelle as he pulls off a series of impressive whip pans.
