Thread: Avi Database

  1. #1

    Default Avi Database

I am looking for a database to sort avi files so that I could quickly run queries and pull up clips to use in Sony Vegas. If you could store your avi files in access it would be perfect. Does anyone know how I could set this up? Right now I am running my queries, printing them, and pulling the corresponding number avi file.

    Thanks for the help

Vegas 6 has the new media manager. It doesn't use Access but it DOES use MSSQL!

does Vegas 6 come with mssql, or do I have to have mssql? I am using vegas 4, I will download the trial version of vegas 6 and see if that is what I need.

    Thanks

It comes with everything it needs to run. It's not the full blown SQL engine - It's Microsoft's "lighter" version (MSDE???)

I am using the trial version and the "media manager" feature is not working on it. I'm guessing that is what I need to look at. As of right now I do not have administrative rights to my computer I am just a user, I'm working on getting that changed.

    Thanks for the info
