Default Help with using motion with final cut hd.....

I know i am running old software but i just ran into a major glitch while using motion within final cut express hd while rotating a clip. after applying rotation it deleted my matte widescreen effect. any quick/ez solution to this?
    thanks in advance,

Place the clip and matte into it's own Nested Sequence, then rotate the Sequence as a whole.

I'm pretty sure you can nest Sequences in Final Cut Express.
