Funny, I bought the Ergotron arm from Dell AND...
So never mind.
I currently have this desk mount arm for my 24" LCD, the arm is rated at 30 lb max support. However, I generally have at least 3/4 of the monitor resting on the top riser of my desk. The 27" iMac is also 30 lb and this is the VESA mount for it. I'm looking for anybody that has had experience with this combination since 30 lbs is pushing the spec on the arm. If anybody has worked with these two products I'd really like to hear your impressions, links to photos too would be fantastic. Thanks!
Since I've had this installed for a couple of months now I thought I'd share my experience with the next person... If you want this arm to fully support a 27" iMac, meaning, you want the iMac to be able to "float," I would have to say, forget it, despite what you may read elsewhere. Even if you really torque the tension adjustment it's not going to hold indefinitely. Granted my Ergotron arm is already about 5 years old but it is still pretty obvious that a 27" iMac exceeds the support of the arm--if you want it to float. I have mine resting on the riser of my desk. I get adequate support that way and still have a great deal of flexibility in where I can adjust the viewing of my screen.
