Japan's NHK has developed am energy efficient CMOS 8K sensor which is capable of 120fps at a resolution of 7680 x 4320. Along with the advent of Sharp's 8K TV (showcased at CES), EOSHD says, "I’m expecting 4k to have quite a short shelf life before 8K comes in, and then a long plateau. "
