Indie Site Tries a Little Studio Savvy
Arthur Cohen, former head of marketing at Paramount Pictures from 1989 until 2003, recently co-founded iklipz.com, a Web site that showcases, markets and hopes to one day facilitate the sale of independent movies.
Helping low-budget films find an audience is already a crowded field. Web sites that have hoped to tap into and unite the independent film community have existed since 1998 when ifilm.com launched as a place for filmmakers to screen their short films online. These days, aspiring filmmakers have their pick of video sites on which to upload their films and trailers, reports the LA Times.
